I think also that this is no time for the creation of a super post of Chancellor on the lines which Professor Hinton suggests. In my view the Advisory Committee would do well to press for Mr Sloss's retention of his present office of Vice- Chancellor for the next few years. He is familiar with University administration and finance both in Hong Kong and other parts of the world. He knows and is known in China. conception of the new University is in keeping with that of the Committee and his ability and determination would see the work of re-establishment through successfully.
